The foyer and terrace of the Conrad Algarve offered the perfect setting for the presentation of the impressive sculptures and maquettes of the British artist Philip Jackson in partnership with the art gallery ArtCatto in Loulé.
Philip Jackson is one of the United Kingdom’s most celebrated sculptors. His statue of Mahatma Gandhi was unveiled in Parliament Square. This incredible statue captures the spirit of this remarkable man who changed the course of history for his beloved country – India.
His pieces are powerful and dramatic and often enigmatic, inspired by Venetian Balls, Masquerades and Carnivals. All the female figures are graceful and delicately posed whilst his groups possess a darker more haunting quality. His sculptures are literally awe-inspiring and over the years Jackson has developed a serious collector base for these sensational pieces.
